Predicting Nephrotoxic Acute Kidney Injury in Hospitalized Adults: A Machine Learning Algorithm

We developed a machine learning model to predict nephrotoxic acute kidney injury (AKI) in hospitalized adults. The study addresses limitations of the NINJA program for adults, which had a high rate of false alerts. Our approach integrates clinical variables and medication data, reducing false alerts per AKI case and providing a more efficient, targeted intervention strategy for AKI prevention.
